New Delhi: The WAVES Creators Corner was inaugurated by Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw on the second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, marking a significant step toward integrating artificial intelligence into India’s creative technology ecosystem.

The WAVES Creators Corner has been conceptualized as a fully operational, hands-on innovation workspace designed to demonstrate transformative applications of Artificial Intelligence within the AVGC-XR (Animation, VFX, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality) ecosystem.

During the inaugural ceremony, the Minister emphasized that the WAVES Creators Corner represents a strategic extension of the Ministry’s initiatives, including WaveX, Waves Bazaar, and the Create in India Challenges.

He conducted a walkthrough of the pavilion, interacting with entrepreneurs from the WaveX startup cohort as well as senior leadership from global technology and media companies such as Adobe, Netflix, Sony, and Amazon.

The WAVES Creators Corner serves as a collaborative platform connecting startups, industry leaders, and policymakers within the Media & Entertainment innovation ecosystem.

WAVES Creators Corner: 51 Startups Showcase AI Innovations

In a major boost to the Media & Entertainment ecosystem, 51 AVGC-XR and Media Tech startups supported by WaveX are presenting AI-powered solutions and immersive technologies at the pavilion.

The WAVES Creators Corner enabled these startups to demonstrate innovations spanning storytelling technologies, automation tools, and immersive production systems.

Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw interacted with several entrepreneurs, including winners of the Bhasha Setu and Kalaa Setu challenges, reinforcing the importance of innovation-led growth through the WAVES Creators Corner initiative.

Fireside Chat on AI and Inclusive Innovation

The Minister also participated in a fireside conversation with Shradha Sharma of YourStory at the Media Lounge. During the discussion, he highlighted the societal impact of artificial intelligence and explained how emerging technologies are enabling talent from rural India to build globally competitive startups.

The conversation reinforced the broader vision behind the WAVES Creators Corner as a platform for inclusive digital innovation.

Technology Demonstrations at the Pavilion

The WAVES Creators Corner featured multiple AI-driven experiences, including real-time game development environments and prompt-to-cinema live studios.

An Agentic AI-powered newsroom developed by Amazon Web Services and BharatGen demonstrated automated editorial workflows.

Additional innovations showcased at the WAVES Creators Corner included real-time voice cloning by Sarvam, multilingual interaction through the Indus Chat App, and immersive 270-degree AI film screenings curated by National Film Development Corporation.

Advanced research demonstrations included face- and voice-re-aging technology from Sony Research India and marker-less motion capture technology by Whistling Woods International, which can be operated using a DSLR camera or an iPhone.

Capacity Building and Creative Education

The Minister also praised Indian Institute of Creative Technologies for integrating artificial intelligence into creative education programs.

According to him, initiatives connected to the WAVES Creators Corner will help equip students with skills aligned to evolving industry demands.

The WAVES Creators Corner will continue to host expert dialogues, filmmaker masterclasses, and technical sessions led by global industry leaders throughout the Summit, strengthening collaboration across India’s AI-driven creative economy.
